The Start-Up Visa (SUV) Program is a Canadian immigration initiative led by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), designed to attract international entrepreneurs with innovative capabilities and potential to generate employment for Canadians.
However, with the increasing volume of applications — many of which lack proven feasibility or active operations — IRCC is now tightening its requirements and placing strong emphasis on genuine engagement between the startup business and the Designated Organization (D.O.) that issued the Letter of Support (LOS).
IRCC is currently prioritizing evidence of active connection and progress between SUV projects and their D.O.s. This is a key opportunity for founders to demonstrate real business development and alignment with their designated incubator or investor.
